The Kamprad Family Foundation
The Kamprad Family Foundation for Entrepreneurship, Research and Charity (Familjen Kamprads Stiftelse) is a private and independent philanthropic foundation created by Ingvar Kamprad and his family. The purpose of the foundation is to support, stimulate and reward education and scientific research to promote entrepreneurship, the environment, competence, health and social improvement. The foundation is well-rooted in Småland but has a global outlook. It has a specific focus on the implementation of results from research in a manner that can rapidly and cost-effectively benefit the many people.
In 2011, Inter IKEA Group made an initial donation of EUR 100 million to the Kamprad Family Foundation followed by an additional annual donation of EUR 29 million between 2012 and 2016. At that time, the group consisted of both the IKEA related business and the investment business (now Interogo Holding AG).
As an international group of companies with its heritage and most valuable asset - the IKEA Concept - deeply embedded in Småland, it made sense to support a foundation with a Smålandish birthplace. It also made sense for the Inter IKEA Group to engage in a foundation started by the creator of the IKEA Concept, Ingvar Kamprad, and his family.
We strongly believe the Kamprad Family Foundation for Entrepreneurship, Research & Charity makes a long-term difference to society and that its purpose is fully aligned with the IKEA vision:
“to create a better everyday life for the many people”
